The MGSA Board of Directors is made up of seven members:
- the County Administrator or his/her designee
- the City Managers of the cities of Novato and San Rafael
- two City/Town Managers selected by the Marin Managers’ Association
- two Public Works Directors in the County selected by the Marin Public Works Directors’ Association
The President and Vice President of the Board are selected annually by the Board.
Board Members do not receive any compensation, stipend, or reimbursement for their time or serving on the Board.
